Ideas you might like to pursue at the Gathering- or bring yours
Make a garment– we have patterns from the workshop, or bring your own. New to sewing? we can start at the beginning or if you have some experience we can help you develop your skills | Inspired by Morocan boucherouite mats during our travels I have a few different styles of mats I have made and can show you. Have a got at making a shaggy mat or pillow -Upcycle old clothes and offcuts, make ‘yarn’ from strips of offcuts and crotchet or use an Amish Needle to make mats. |
There is the print table to use in the studio Print cloth for your garments or homewares | Take time to sit and stitch– slow stitching or meditative stitching. You’ll find lots of inspiration in our samples box or on the internet |
Make a quilt or doona covers | Pillows for the home- take time to make it yourself and it will not become fast fashion and thrown out |
Toys for your kids or clothes | Mending- darning a jumper or socks, putting patches on your pants, it can be discrete if you wish or bold and a creative statement. |
Textiles are a fantastic medium to express your creative self– art quilts, wall hangings, books, stitched garments | Origami Bag |
