This workshop is a starting point to create your own “Little Book of Inspiration” – an inspiring textile art piece
I will supply a kit with naturally dyed khadi to be used for the pages
we will spend some time printing a few pieces to start you off, talk about stitch
and a lot of time working on choosing a theme and quotes to suit you.
I envision we will touch base again in 2 months [in person or via zoom] to share our progress and insights, inspiration.
My Journal [and Jacket] were part of a theme I was working on #staysanestitching – a body of work that helped me navigate the stress and confinement of lockdown in India.
I like to hand stitch, to glory in the quality and texture of the cloth so you will see lots of raw edges and textured stitching- you can follow my lead if it suits your personality or use all the base materials and development and a sewing machine or more structured embroidery approach. Every appraoch is valid, this work is to reflect you.
