Shaggy Base- medium mat

Our local weaver Mr Gaffer makes floor washing cloth out of the yarn that is too course and lumpy for fabric…. it is soft and beautiful to use as a craft base.

We have used it to make shaggy mats and pillows

also as a base for giant cross stitch

all bound around the edges with 1 cm wide khadi cotton piping.
